Home Depot has launched an AI voice agent phone system built on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise, replacing traditional phone menus with natural language conversation that resolves customer inquiries four times faster—with a 50-store pilot demonstrating intent recognition in under 10 seconds and the ability to initiate service requests, build shopping carts, and support real-time translation across any language. The system maintains a direct path to human associates for complex issues and will roll out to all U.S. stores within the coming year, whilst pilot participants reported higher job satisfaction as associates gained more time for in-store support.
