Typewise orchestrates customer-service AI agents

Typewise has launched Nova, an orchestration platform that addresses a critical operational gap in customer-service AI deployment: the hidden labour cost of keeping agents accurate and production-ready. Rather than replacing existing help desk infrastructure, Nova sits above Zendesk, Intercom, Shopify and similar platforms to manage agent knowledge, workflows, guardrails and performance monitoring autonomously. The company's core insight—that most customer-service teams run AI as disconnected tools rather than integrated systems—reflects a maturity problem in the market. Typewise argues that pilot-to-production transitions fail not because the technology doesn't work, but because organisations lack the operational capacity to continuously maintain, test and improve agents without dedicated staff. This reframes the AI agent conversation for CX leaders: the question is no longer whether agents can handle customer requests, but whether your team has the bandwidth to operate them at scale.

The implications cut across team structures and vendor relationships. Typewise's outcome-based pricing model—charging only for fully resolved requests—aligns incentives with actual business value rather than token consumption or API calls, a departure from how most AI vendors price. Early customers show material results: HealGreen reports agents handling 70% of inquiries with 75–85% full resolution rates, whilst Beurer North America achieves 65% autonomous resolution with 90% success rates and halved handling times for human-escalated cases. For Zendesk administrators and support leads already managing multiple point solutions, Nova's integration-first approach suggests a consolidation play—but it also raises a strategic question: as orchestration layers become standard, will traditional help desk vendors need to build equivalent capabilities in-house, or will they cede operational AI management to specialist platforms?

The governance model embedded in Nova—plain-language workflow configuration, approval gates for sensitive actions, full audit logging and zero data retention—addresses compliance concerns that have slowed enterprise AI adoption. By allowing administrators to set automation limits and requiring human sign-off for high-value transactions, Typewise removes a friction point that has kept many teams in pilot mode. For organisations currently evaluating agentic AI, this represents a meaningful shift: the operational overhead that has historically justified cautious, phased rollouts may no longer be a legitimate constraint.
