Announcing a new API password access setting for end users

Zendesk is introducing a new Admin Center setting effective November 10, 2025 that allows administrators to control whether end users can make authenticated API requests, with unauthenticated requests treated as anonymous if the setting is disabled. This change separates end user API access from team member access ahead of the January 12, 2026 deadline for migrating all password-based API authentication to API tokens or OAuth, and the feature is automatically available in your account with no action required unless you wish to adjust the setting.
